كنيسة القيامة تبتسم من جديد… بزيارتكم أثلجتم قلبي
منذ أسابيع، وفي ظل الأوضاع السياسية الصعبة التي تمر بها البلاد، شعرت كنيسة القيامة بالحزن. مئات الآلاف من الحجاج ألغوا رحلاتهم، وتراجعت الحركة السياحية إلى مدينة القدس، حتى باتت كنيسة القيامة تبكي زوارها، وتئن بصمت وسط بهوها الخاشع وساحاتها المقدسة.
لكن شيئاً عظيماً بدأ يحدث… شيئاً لا يُكتب في برامج الرحلات ولا يُقاس بعدد الطائرات القادمة. ففي كل يوم سبت وبالتحديد ، بدأت أرى مشهداً يأسر القلب: تدفق مبارك من أحبتنا من عرب الداخل، أبناء هذا التراب، الذين شدّوا الرحال إلى مدينة القدس، حاملين معهم المحبة والانتماء والدعم، ليس فقط الروحي، بل أيضاً الاقتصادي لأسواق القدس القديمة، التي ترزح تحت سنوات من الركود.
واليوم السبت، لم يكن يوماً عادياً. كان يوماً من نور. رأيت بأم عيني كيف امتلأت كنيسة القيامة وساحتها بمئات الزوار من إخواننا المسيحيين من مناطق الـ48. رأيت الفرح في عيون الناس، الدفء في اللقاءات، والأمل في عناق القدس لأهلها. امتلأت الأسواق، دبت الحياة في الأزقة، وتعانقت الأجراس مع أصوات الخطى على حجارة المدينة العتيقة.
أيها الأحبة، لقد أثلجتم قلبي. اليوم لم تكن كنيسة القيامة حزينة، بل كانت تبتسم من القلب. شعرتُ أن الرب قد أرسل أبناءه من عرب هذا الوطن ليعمروا بيته، ويرفعوا عنه الحزن، ويملأوه بالمحبة.
من موقعي هذا، أناشد بكل حب أصدقائي الآباء والرهبان المسؤولين عن الكنائس في الجليل والمثلث والنقب وسائر مناطق ٤٨، أن يستمروا في تشجيع هذه الرحلات المباركة إلى كنيسة القيامة، أم الكنائس، قلب المسيحية النابض.
ما رأيته اليوم أعاد إليّ الإيمان بأن كنيسة القيامة وإن غاب عنها زوارها الأجانب، فهناك من أبنائها من لا يتركونها وحيدة. فأنتم القلب، وأنتم السند، وأنتم الدفء في هذا الزمن الصعب.
فلا خوف عليكِ يا أم الكنايس، فإنكِ تسكنين في قلوب الجميع… وسيظل نورك مشعاً بزيارة أبنائك البررة.
وفي الختام، أتوجه بجزيل الشكر والتقدير لكل شخص ساهم في تنظيم ودعم هذه الرحلات المباركة إلى مدينة القدس، وبالأخص إلى كنيسة القيامة. أنتم الحبل الواصل بين الأرض والسماء، وأنتم من جعلتم من هذا اليوم عيداً في قلب القدس.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre Smiles Again… Your Visit Warmed My Heart
In recent weeks, amidst the difficult political circumstances our country is going through, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has felt a deep sadness. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims canceled their trips, and tourism to Jerusalem has declined drastically. The church wept for its visitors and silently mourned within its sacred courtyards and holy spaces.
But then, something truly beautiful began to unfold—something that cannot be found in travel brochures or measured by the number of flights. Every Saturday, I began witnessing a heartwarming scene: the blessed arrival of our beloved people from the Arab communities inside the 1948 territories. The sons and daughters of this land came to Jerusalem, carrying with them love, belonging, and support—not only spiritual but also economic, as they breathed life into the markets of the Old City, which have suffered years of stagnation.
Today, this Saturday, was nothing short of extraordinary. I witnessed with my own eyes the courtyards and interior of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre filled with hundreds of visitors from our Christian brothers and sisters of the 1948 territories. I saw joy in their eyes, warmth in their reunions, and hope in the embrace of Jerusalem. The markets came alive, the alleyways pulsed with energy, and the bells rang in harmony with the sound of footsteps on the ancient stones of the city.
My beloved ones—you have truly warmed my heart. Today, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was not sad. It smiled—genuinely and gratefully. I felt that God had sent His children, the Arab faithful of this land, to fill His house with love, to lift its sorrow, and to revive its spirit.
From my position, I lovingly call upon my friends, the priests and clergy responsible for the churches in Galilee, the Triangle, the Negev, and all areas of the 1948 lands, to continue encouraging these blessed pilgrimages to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre—the Mother of All Churches, the beating heart of Christianity.
What I witnessed today reaffirmed my faith that even when international visitors are absent, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre will never be empty—for her children will never abandon her. You are the heart, the support, and the warmth in these challenging times.
Fear not, O Mother of Churches—for you dwell in the hearts of all. And your light shall forever shine through the presence of your faithful children.
In closing, I extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to every person who took part in organizing and supporting these blessed pilgrimages to the Holy City of Jerusalem—and especially to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. You are the bridge between earth and heaven, and you have turned this day into a celebration in the heart of Jerusalem.
